Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the latest instalment of the hugely popular first-person shooter (FPS) video game and the 16th overall in the Call of Duty (CoD) series. Released on October 25, 2019, it is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
Once purchased, there are numerous game modes, however, the campaign is the only one that does not require an online connection.
The campaign is divided into individual missions, with 14 in total, which will take between six to eight hours to complete. Many online game modes allow you to test your skills against players anywhere in the world.
To play online, there are a number of minimum requirements that need to be met, no matter which system you are playing on. These include a certain amount of hard-drive space, memory and an Internet connection speed of at least 512 KBPS.
You will also have to purchase a membership to enjoy every aspect of the game online, with Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold giving you full access.
Once you have online access, you can play a host of multiplayer games, with Team Deathmatch and Search and Destroy two of the most popular.
On March 10, 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone, a new free-to-play battle royale game, was made available for everyone with Modern Warfare. It is also available to download for free on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. This online multiplayer combat game has two main modes: Plunder and Battle Royale.
Warzone is the second main battle royale instalment in the Call of Duty franchise, following the “Blackout” mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The main difference is that this mode supports up to 150 players in a single match.
While playing Warzone you can compete by yourself or with friends in a squad of up to three players.
